Lotus Temple - An Architectural Masterpiece

The Lotus Temple located in the South District of New Delhi near the famous IT parts market, Nehru Place. It is one of the main landmark and historical relics of the capital. The temple is the house of worship for the Bahai religion, but people from all religion come this place now.

It is approx 34 meters high marble structure in the shape of 27 petals, thus it is named as Lotus Temple. The temple has nine doors and each door opens to the central hall which has capacity of 2500 people. The temple complex comprises 26 acres of land which is fantastically maintained as a wonderful park as well.

The temple has received many awards for its architecture, fine arts, religion, governmental etc. from around the world. The temple is a most visited building in the world according to a CNN report.  It has suppressed even Taj Mahal with above 4.5 million visitors in a year.

How To Visit - Nearest Metro Station – Kalkaji Metro Station or Nehru Place Metro Station on Violet Line.

Visitors Time – 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM every day.
